Predators are great glasses, they have a great design and great shape....the lenses are amazing and let a lot of light in while still providing a dark tint for the rest of the world.
But the material they make the frames with seems cheap...they are making most of their higher quality glasses with propionate now so I don't know why the Predators are still being made with stiff, halfway glossy cheap plastic when glasses that cost twenty or thirty dollars less are being made with the soft satin propionate material....That is the one thing that gets me from the start. After having a pair of 4026's (which are twenty dollars cheaper) and a pair of 4111's (which are ten dollars more expensive) the Predators just feel kinda cheap in your hands....Not too mention most of the quality Ray Bans have raised metal or plastic moulded emblems on the temples....the predators are made the easy way with just a painted logo on either side.
They are classics, no doubt, and they have an iconic look to them, but if you are going to charge top dollar for a pair of glasses, make them with top dollar materials instead of using the cheap stuff....I am a devoted Ray Ban guy when it comes to glasses but to be honest the Predators feel like the cheapest ones I have when they should be the best....Ray Ban has used Predators as a flagship for the brand for damn near ten years....It's about time the Predator got a makeover.
